Trish Rogers, Irish bog oak sculptor

Every Sculpture I create is completely unique, the Irish Bog Oak I use is carbon dated by Queens University, Belfast as being consistently over 6,000 years old.

Once dug from the ground in Ireland a large piece can take up to 7 years to complete.

During this time the individual sculpture will be revealed with nature determining the shape of final piece.

How I Work

I was raised in Belfast, left school and joined the Northern (Danske) Bank, where I stayed for 17 years

I decided to launch my own business sculpting bog oak on spalted beech bases after my two boys left home and, with the encouragement and support of them and my partner, Irish Bog Oak Sculptures began.

All of my products are original pieces and are handcrafted in my home studio near Lough Neagh, where I moved five years ago. After initially living in a  mobile home, which was quite an adventure, I finally built my dream house – a spacious log cabin set in two acres of land, surrounded by my horses, dogs and cats.
